DOT to Unveil I-95 East Lyme Interchange Improvement Plans

Officials are set to unveil improvement plans soon for an I-95 interchange where an "above average" amount of crashes have occurred.

EAST LYME, CT - The state is planning improvements for an Interstate 95 interchange in East Lyme, the New London Day reported.

The State Department is set to unveil plans next month for the Interstate 95 Exit 74 interchange with Route 161, according to the New London Day. While the plans are set to be unveiled soon, construction is anticipated to begin in four years.

DOT officials said the project is designed to ease congestion and improve safety, the New London Day reported. It is also hoped the project will improve traffic operations in the area, where there has been an large number of crashes in several locations.
