Driver Hospitalized After Car Strikes Tree In East Lyme: Police

EAST LYME, CT — A car struck a tree Saturday night in East Lyme, according to police. The accident occurred at 10:45 p.m. and the driver was extricated by the Flanders and Niantic Fire Departments.

The victim was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, then later transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Police said they did not have an update on the victim's condition.

The accident is under investigation by the East Lyme and Waterford Police Departments.
