East Lyme Democratic Town Committee Chairman Resigns

Democratic Town Committee member and current chairman Edward Morris has resigned, The Day of New London reported.

His resignation comes after a disagreement over his endorsement of New London Democratic Town Committee chairman Bill Satti for the 20th Senate District after the committee had formally endorsed Betsy Ritter.

The Day reports that in his resignation letter, Morris said he had the right to endorse whomever he chose but learned that some committee members were at odds with him for his decision.

The chairman position will be left vacant for now and Morris will continue to serve on the Democratic State Central Committee.
