East Lyme Hit With Multiple Car Burglaries, 1 Car Theft: Police
The incidents occurred during the overnight hours between Sunday and Monday, according to police.

EAST LYME, CT — East Lyme police detectives are investigating a vehicle theft and multiple vehicle break-ins that occurred in the Chesterfield Road and Cedar Brook Lane areas late Sunday night and early Monday morning.
The department was alerted by a resident who saw suspicious activity on Cedar Brook Lane at about 12:30 a.m., and a search for suspects was conducted using a police dog.
"While investigating this incident, Officers found numerous items discarded in the roadway at multiple locations off Chesterfield Road," East Lyme authorities wrote in a Facebook post. "Officers were able to identify the items as having been taken from vehicles in the neighborhood. Multiple residents have contacted Police to advise that their vehicles had been entered and items of value were taken."

At the same time, police learned of the stolen vehicle in the same area.
Anyone with any information on the break-ins is urged to contact the East Lyme Police Department at "860-739-5900, or by sending an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting keyword ELPD and their message/tip to 847411 (tip411) or by using the ELPD app."
