East Lyme, Lyme, Old Lyme All Lose State Money in Malloy's Plan

East Lyme is the biggest loser of the three - losing over $750,000 of its fiscal year 2019 budget if Malloy gets his way.

The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.

Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.

East Lyme would see a 9 percent - or $754,887 reduction from its $8 million grant; Old Lyme would see a 50 percent cut from its $575,332 grant; and Lyme would see a 26 percent reduction from its $284,003 grant.
