East Lyme Police Chief Charged In Domestic Violence Case: State Police

The East Lyme police chief is on paid administrative leave due to domestic violence allegations.

EAST LYME, CT — The East Lyme police chief is on administrative leave after he was arrested in connection with a domestic violence incident, WTNH News-8 reported.

Michael Finkelstein, 53, was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree breach of peace, according to a state police arrest warrant. He was held on $10,000 bond.

East Lyme First Selectman Daniel R. Cunningham told WTNH News-8 that Finkelstein is on paid administrative leave pending the results of an investigation. Lt. Michael Macek has been named the acting chief of police.

East Lyme police responded to a call at about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a domestic disturbance.
