East Lyme Police Warn Residents About Hack, 'Secure Message' Virus

East Lyme police are warning residents not to open a 'secure message' after a hack reported Friday.

EAST LYME, CT — East Lyme police posted an email hack/spam alert on their Facebook page Friday.

"If you receive an email from any of our officers today that says they are attempting to send you a secure message, do not open the message. It is a virus. Our IT department is working on the problem. If you are unsure about any message you can call the department and verify its authenticity at 860-739-5900."
