East Lyme Residents Warned to Lock Doors, Vehicles in Light of Recent Criminal Activity

A recently released prisoner may have fallen back into old habits, and police are warning residents to stay alert and take precautions.

EAST LYME, CT - The East Lyme Police Department is currently reminding residents to secure their doors and windows, and to lock their vehicles.

Residents should also watch over their neighborhoods and report any suspicious activity to the police, according to a release. The warning comes due to reports of a recently released prisoner possibly reverting back to crime immediately.

The unidentified suspect is accused of burglarizing homes and stealing anything he could. Old Lyme residents have allegedly already fallen victim to criminal activities linked to the suspect and are taking steps to obtain an arrest warrant.

Police describe the recently released suspect as a Caucasian male in his late 20's. He is possibly working with another man and driving in a dark blue or similar colored Honda, though the vehicle's information has not been confirmed.

Officers do not have any specific information indicating that East Lyme will be targeted by the suspect, but hope to stay ahead of any problems.
