East Lyme Schools Make Decision on Thursday Schedule
The New London County towns seem to have gotten the worst of the Jan. 26-27 winter storm.

Post from East Lyme Public Safety:
- East Lyme Schools
- Two Hour Delay for Thursday, January 29, 2015
- There will be no morning preschool.
Message from the Board of Ed. —
- Two Hour Delay and Bus Route Information for Thursday, January 29, 2015.
- Schools will open tomorrow on a two-hour delay. There will be no morning Preschool. Despite the best efforts of our Town maintenance staff, a few areas of our community will not be accessible to bus travel.
- Therefore, please note the following information that may apply to your area: Pine Grove Residents: The area will not be accessible in the morning. Students may board the bus at the corner of Smith and Pine Grove at the regular bus pick-up time.
- Black Point Area: Buses will travel and pick up students on the route from Black Point Road to East Shore to Belair to Old Black Point Road. Several side roads are not yet accessible.
- Lower Giants Neck: Students should gather at the bus stop under the railroad bridge since several roads in that area are not yet accessible.
- Saunders Point Area: Several side roads in Saunders Point are not yet accessible. A bus will pick up students at the corner of Quarry Dock Rd. and Oswagatchie Hills Rd. We anticipate that most other roads and bus stops will be accessible. Parents should anticipate some delays.
- Given the snow piles on many roads, buses will stop to pick up students who are waiting at the end of their driveways along identified routes. We are hopeful that most of these roads will be accessible by the end of the school day. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging days. I assure you that no student will be penalized if parents are unable to accommodate these various changes.
