East Lyme Senator Advocates for Hospitals, Health Care
Senator Paul Formica and Representative Kathleen McCarty recently met with hospital employees to discuss health care ad more.

HARTFORD, CT – Senator Paul Formica (Republican-East Lyme) and Representative Kathleen McCarty (Republican-Waterford) met with employees from Lawrence + Memorial Hospital at the state Capitol to discuss ways the state can better support health care and hospitals in Connecticut.
The meeting with L+M took place April 5 at the Connecticut Hospital Association’s Advocacy Day. Formica, McCarty and fellow Republican lawmakers have presented a budget since that meeting that rejects the governor’s proposal to enact a new local tax on hospitals. The Republican budget proposal, titled “Confident Connecticut,” also would preserve funding for small hospitals and core services including mental health and substance abuse treatment.
State Senator Paul Formica represents the residents of the 20th Senatorial District, which includes Bozrah, East Lyme, a portion of Montville, New London, Old Lyme, a portion of Old Saybrook, Salem, and Waterford. He was elected in 2015 and is currently serving his second term.
