East Lyme Woman Charged With Abusing Mother: Report

EAST LYME, CT — A woman has been charged with abusing her 91-year-old mother who died in June, according to The New London Day. Carol Allard, 64, turned herself into police Wednesday morning and was charged with second-degree abuse of persons and negligent cruelty to persons.

Allard's mother died at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in June, a week after she was admitted for chest pains. Medical records show that the victim arrived at the hospital covered in urine and feces, had gangrenous sores, and other signs of negligence.
