East Lyme Woman Charged In Child Abuse Case: Police

An East Lyme woman has been charged following an investigation, according to police.

EAST LYME, CT — An East Lyme woman has been charged following an investigation into reported incidents of child abuse and mistreatment, according to a police statement. Katie Ann Nichols, 36, of East Lyme, was charged with negligent cruelty to persons, risk of injury to a child, and second-degree reckless endangerment.

She was held on $250,000 bond. She was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.

According to police, Nichols was arrested on a warrant at 7 a.m. Tuesday. The arrest is the result of an investigation by police and the Department of Children and Families into allegations of child abuse and mistreatment.
