East Lyme Woman to Receive WWII Veteran Uncle’s Dog Tag from Australia
It is unknown how the tag ended up in Australia, as his unit is not known to have been stationed there.

EAST LYME, CT – An American World War II veteran’s dog tag will traveling a great distance to be returned to his family in Connecticut, The Day reported.
Angelo Calla’s tag was found in Australia by a woman in a New South Wales reservoir 18 years ago, according to The Day. The woman, Tamara Heinjus, decided to research the tag a bit last month.
The tag will be returned to Calla’s niece in East Lyme, as Calla died in 1969, according to The Day. It is unknown how the tag ended up in Australia, as Calla’s unit is not known to have been stationed there.
