Firefighters Douse Early Morning Blaze At Tri-Town Foods

A 6 a.m. fire at the market on Chesterfield Road was put out by Flanders Fire Department. Heavy smoke conditions followed.

EAST LYME, CT — An East Lyme grocery market caught fire early this morning.

Firefighters responded just after 6 a.m. Saturday to a report of a fire in Tri-Town Foods at 15 Chesterfield Road. The Flanders Fire Department is a quarter of a mile away on Boston Post Road.

Within 45 minutes, it was reported that the fire had been "knocked down" with a lot of heavy, thick smoke following.
