Four Lyme-Area Elementary Schools Rank Among Connecticut's Best

Four elementary schools in the Lyme-area were ranked among the top 100 public elementary schools in Connecticut, based on new rankings of the best schools in the state from Niche.com, a site that offers rankings on schools, neighborhoods and more.

Here’s how the Lyme-area schools placed.

• Lyme Consolidated School — No. 50
• Niantic Center School — No. 59
• Center School — No. 67
• Lillie B. Haynes School — No. 96

According to Niche, a high ranking indicates that “students are happy with their experiences in all aspects, especially academics, teachers, and diversity,” “the school is an exceptional academic institution in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes,” and “the school is made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture.”

Lyme Consolidated School

Lyme Consolidated School is a public school in Old Lyme. It has 134 students in grades K-5. According to state standards, 95% of students at this school are considered proficient in math and/or reading.

Niantic Center School

Niantic Center School is a public school in Niantic. It has 229 students in grades K-4. According to state standards, 91% of students at this school are considered proficient in math and/or reading.

Center School, Old Lyme, CT
