Friends Of Whalebone Cove's April 11 Annual Meeting To Focus On Hydrilla

Friends of Whalebone Cove will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, Apr. 11, at 3:00 p.m. on Zoom, with a focus on identifying some of the alternatives for managing the explosion of invasive hydrilla that’s choking sections of the Connecticut River and its tributaries.

In the last three years, underwater invasive hydrilla vines have been spreading rapidly throughout the Connecticut River, choking its coves, bays and tributaries, making them almost impassable for kayaks, canoes, motor boats and many fishermen. Margot Burns from RiverCOG will be the featured speaker.
