Gas Prices In Old Lyme Are Down Sharply From Spring Highs

Regular gas in Old Lyme is running below the state average, per AAA and EIA data.

OLD LYME, CT — The price of regular unleaded gasoline has fallen considerably in Old Lyme and across Connecticut since the spring surge, though pump prices remain notably higher than they were at this time a year ago, according to the latest data from AAA and the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Connecticut's statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded stood at $4.026 as of June 24, according to AAA. That is a decline of about 20 cents from $4.230 one week ago and a drop of roughly 62 cents from $4.648 one month ago. The year-over-year comparison tells a starker story: the statewide average was $3.162 a year ago, meaning Connecticut drivers are paying close to 86 cents more per gallon today than they were at this point in 2025.

The state's current average of $4.026 runs slightly above the national average of $3.928 tracked by AAA as of June 24. The EIA, which publishes weekly retail fuel price data, put the national average for regular gasoline at $3.914 per gallon for the week ending June 22. That same report placed the New England regional average — the federal agency groups Connecticut with its five neighboring states — at $3.952 per gallon.
