Shopping at the Friends Holiday Book Sale? Drop your little ones off in the Children's Room while you browse for the perfect gift! We'll be making pom-pom fairy ornaments and pine cone elves. All materials will be provided and walk-ins are welcome.

Looking forward to our second year with this "Ecology" minded event "Bees &amp; Birds &amp; Butterflies Oh My" on September 26th at Samuel Smith Farmstead in East Lyme from 10 am to 3 pm.&nbsp; Join us to learn about protecting bees and birds in our environment, and inviting them into our yards with pollinator plants and other welcoming ideas. Our six guests will be happy to talk and share knowledge with you during this event.&nbsp; At 1 pm, Dr. Jamie Vaudrey from the Niantic Watershed Committee will conduct a 20 minute "engaging talk" about Coastal Challenges in our regional communities.&nbsp; &nbsp;All day, we will have an "Enviroscape Coastal Model" to interact with which illustrates how runoff starts in our own backyards.&nbsp; Hope you can come - as always our events are FREE and geared for children and adults alike. "Bees & Birds & Butterflies Oh My" Ecology Minded Event

Consumer Reports Auto Test Center

For the first time in our 90-year history, Consumer Reports is opening up its Auto Test Center on Saturday, October 17 for a one-of-a-kind fundraising event. Participants will be able to run or walk on the iconic track where CR tests cars for safety and reliability–a beautiful, state-of-the-art, 327-acre testing center in Colchester, CT. After the race, participants and spectators are invited to stay for a demonstration and speak with the experts who conduct testing on site each day. Proceeds from the race will fund Consumer Reports’ non-profit mission–working for truth, transparency, and fairness in the marketplace.
Participation fee includes a t-shirt.
