UPDATE: Interstate 95 Re-Opens in Old Lyme After Shut Down

Part of the interstate was shut down along the shoreline after a pedestrian was hit by a tractor trailer. BREAKING

OLD LYME, CT - Part of Interstate 95 was shut down along the shoreline Thursday morning in Old Lyme and did not re-open until later Thursday evening.

I-95 Southbound was closed between Exits 71 and 70 around 11:34 a.m., according to the DOT website. Police said the closure was prompted by a pedestrian being hit by a tractor trailer..

A fuel spill resulted in DEEP/environmental services' response for clean-up. Delays were also reported on I-95 southbound, with congestion between Exits 74 and 71 (3.6 miles) around 1:26 p.m.
