Investigation Continues Into Fatal Old Lyme Crash: Report

The 19-year-old pedestrian from Westbrook died nearly two weeks after suffering injuries in the Oct. 30 crash.

OLD LYME, CT — An Oct. 30 crash in Old Lyme, in which a 19-year-old pedestrian was struck and later died of his injuries, remains under investigation by Connecticut State Police, reports The Day.

Yeison Gomez Cruz, of Westbrook, succumbed to his injuries on Nov. 11. He had been walking on the Boston Post Road on the 30th just before 2 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Daniel J. Coffee, 35, according to the publication.

Coffee has not been charged in connection with the crash, but whether charges may be pending was not disclosed by state police. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact Trooper Christopher Centi at Troop F, 860-399-2100.
