An Invitation to Spend the Day Painting the Town of Old Lyme Followed by a Reception & Art Sale at the LAA

Paint the Town: Plein Air Painting from Dawn to Dusk is the Lyme Art Association’s annual outdoor painting event, art sale and reception. It returns this year on Saturday, August 29 with the reception and sale at the Lyme Art Association (LAA) from 5 – 7 pm. LAA’s Paint the Town invites its LAA Member Artists to plein air paint the towns of Old Lyme, Lyme, and East Lyme from dawn to dusk, and then bring their freshly finished works to LAA’s galleries for an art sale, reception, and awards ceremony. Additionally, the community is invited to the LAA galleries for the celebratory reception to meet the artists, view the artwork, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, listen to live music by the John Brown BackPorch Trio, and purchase a piece of art to take home. Paint the Town is Saturday, August 29 with plein air painting from dusk to dawn, and the art sale and reception going from 5 – 7 pm at the Lyme Art Association. For LAA Member Artists, the participating plein air painting fee is $30. The reception is open to the public, and a reception ticket is $10 per person.
