Ledge Light Health District Hosts Free Flu Clinic This Month

NEW LONDON, CT — Ledge Light Health District will host host a free flu clinic for children (over the age of 6 months) and adults from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 27 at the LLHD office on Broad Street in New London, organizers announced.

Flu shots will be available on a first come, first served basis, and no appointments are necessary. The district serves the communities of East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Stonington and Waterford.

"Even though how well the vaccine works does vary from year to year, the flu vaccine remains the single best tool we have in preventing flu infections, flu-related hospitalizations, and flu-related deaths," said Russ Melmed, LLHD Epidemiologist, in a statement.
