Lightning Hits Tree, Causes Old Lyme House Fire: Update

Firefighters battled the blaze early Wednesday morning, May 23.

OLD LYME, CT — A lightning strike is being blamed for igniting a house fire on Talcott Farm Road in Old Lyme Wednesday morning, reports Fox61 News.

WTNH-TV reports that lightning struck a tree on the property, which then sparked an electrical fire at the house.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters responded to the scene to battle the early morning blaze, and all occupants of the home had already gotten out by the time fire crews had arrived.
