Living Statue business is launched in Old Lyme!

Have you seen the Enchanted Fairy at Kidsploration Gala at the Garde Arts Center, Heavenly Angel at the Norma Terris Theatre in Chester or Venus, The Goddess of Love at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center or the Romantic Ballerina at Pinc! in New London?  Dawn King, creator and performer of Living Statues in Motion, has begun a new local business sure to entertain and delight guests of all ages with her beauty and artistry.

Inspired by a personal encounter with a living statue, the seed of an idea was planted and the vision blossomed.  As a dedicated ballet dancer, performer and employee of Eastern CT Ballet, Dawn first transformed into a Snow Queen statue.  With each person approaching, the statue came alive with poetic movement and 100% of the donated proceeds sent many Connecticut U.S. military families to the beautiful Eastern CT Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker at The Garde Arts Center, free of charge.  This was a labor of love that connected with the community in a unique, expressive and giving manner.  She's also worked to support Special Olympics, River Glow 2014, Care &Share and the New London Community Meal Center and more.

As Venus the Goddess of Love, a Vineyard Goddess, an Enchanted Fairy, a Heavenly Angel, Cupid, a Gatsby Girl, a Romantic Ballerina and getting ready to launch several new stunning statue characters, Living Statues in Motion moves gracefully and gives each guest a customized proverb scroll that delights guests and creates a “buzz”.
