Lone Paddle Board Prompts Search, Owner Found Safe: East Lyme PD

EAST LYME, CT — The discovery of a paddle board adrift in the waters off Black Point in Niantic Thursday prompted a search involving local emergency personnel and the U.S. Coast Guard, but the owner of the board was found and was not in any danger, according to posts on the East Lyme Police Department's Facebook page.

The department posted a picture of the board at about noon and asked for the public's help in locating the owner. Readers shared the post nearly 200 times, and the department thanked them for their assistance.
