Lyme Woman Accused of Keeping 10 Underfed, Unclean Horses in Filthy Conditions
The suspect allegedly had stalls of horses with visible ribs, infections, overgrown hooves curled upward.

LYME, CT – Animal control officers said they found 10 unclean, emaciated horses at woman’s residence, The Day reported.
Carolyn P. Thomas, 58, was charged Oct. 13 with cruelty to animals and is due in court Tuesday morning as a result, according to The Day. The suspect allegedly had been found to have an unclean and underweight pony wandering along Grassy Hill Road in April.
Further investigation revealed Thomas to have 10 stalls of horses with visible ribs, infections, overgrown hooves curled upward and a walkway covered in debris and excrement, The Day reported. The horses have since received new owners.
