Man Charged In $4,300 Medication Shoplifting Case In East Lyme: Report

A man is accused of stealing numerous cold medications from two East Lyme pharmacies over the weekend, according to reports.

EAST LYME, CT — A man was arrested on charges that he stole $4,300 worth of cold medications from East Lyme pharmacies, WTNH News-8 reported. Arnold Ludd, 50, of Brooklyn, NY, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer and assigned a $15,000 bond.

Police responded to a shoplifting call at a CVS on Chesterfield Road on Saturday. Police found a man matching the description they were given across the street at Walgreens.

Ludd is accused of stealing Mucinex, Claritin, Zyrtec, Flonase, Allegra, and Nexium from both CVS and Walgreens, according to WFSB 3-TV.

He then allegedly provided a fake name to police.

Ludd also had extraditable warrants from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Monroe.
