Man Charged In East Lyme Near-Fatal Drug Overdose: Police
Police have arrested a man accused of providing drugs in an overdose case.

EAST LYME, CT — Police have arrested a man accused of providing drugs in an overdose case. Zachary Hast, 32, of Colchester was arrested Monday at New London Superior Court and charged with sale of narcotics.
The arrest was related to an Aug. 25 near-fatal overdose in East Lyme. An investigation found that Hast provided the victim with narcotics.
The case was investigated by the East Lyme Police Department with assistance from the Norwich and Groton Town Police departments.

Police said in a statement that Hast was also arrested Nov. 7 and found in possession of fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and prescription narcotics pills.
Hast was charged with seven counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, five counts of possession of a controlled substance, operating a drug factory, and seven counts of possession of weapons in a motor vehicle. He is currently incarcerated on that arrest.
