Man Charged For Burglary, Trespassing At Old Lyme Home

A man is facing charges after he was found in an Old Lyme home Monday.

OLD LYME, CT — A man is facing charges after he was found in an Old Lyme home, according to state police. Benjamin Dahm, 31, of 1538 Route 12 Apt. 29 in Gales Ferry, was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and liability of owner/interfering with officer.

He was held on $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Police received a call at 5:55 p.m. Monday that a man was inside a home at 11 Meetinghouse Lane who was not supposed to be there. Police arrived to find a shirtless man in the home and a Jeep Cherokee in the garage with no license plates that was not supposed to be there.

After trying to make contact with the man multiple times, troopers entered the home through an unlocked basement door to complete a search. Dahm was found hiding in the upstairs bathroom, according to state police.
