Man Faces Charges In East Lyme Cooking Oil Theft: Police
A man was arrested on accusations that he stole cooking oil from an East Lyme restaurant.
EAST LYME, CT — A man was arrested on accusations that he stole cooking oil from an East Lyme restaurant. During the overnight hours early Wednesday morning, police located a suspicious vehicle parked behind Great Wall Chinese Food, which was the victim of previous cooking oil thefts.
Police stopped the vehicle on Flanders Road a short while later. The police officer who conducted the stop found burglary tools associated with cooking oil theft in plain sight. The officer also found four large plastic containers in the vehicle, some of which contained cooking oil.
A Stamford man was charged with possession of burglary tools, third-degree criminal trespassing, and motor vehicle charges.

He was released on $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Jan. 25.
