Man Flees East Lyme Traffic Stop With Children In Tow: PD

The incident stemmed from a domestic situation, police said.

EAST LYME, CT — A Colchester man was arrested after he fled the scene of a traffic stop, according to police.

James Charland, 48, stopped over to see his estranged wife and stepdaughter on Grand Street on July 28 and was advised by police that he shouldn't go back, according to The Day. On July 31 yelling was reported in the area.

Charland was stopped after he left the scene with two of his children and a grandson in his pickup truck, police said.

He then left the scene and was arrested this past Saturday in Hartford.
