OLD LYME, CT — A man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Old Lyme on Tuesday afternoon, according to state police. A Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling west on Route 156 in Old Lyme approaching the Mile Creek Road intersection at 4:07 p.m.

The motorcycle went off the right side of the road, rolled over, and ended up on the front lawn of a church.

The driver, Edward Lazarin, 78, of Salem, was ejected from the motorcycle.

He was transported to Shoreline Clinic in Westbrook and pronounced dead.

The Connecticut State Police accident reconstruction unit responded. Route 156 was closed at Mile Creek Road and Bailey Road following the crash, according to WTNH News-8.

The accident is under investigation.
