Niantic Man Killed In Head-On Crash: Police

A Niantic man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in East Lyme on Thursday morning.

EAST LYME, CT — A Niantic man was killed in a two-vehicle head-on accident in East Lyme on Thursday. Brian Brousseau, 65, died in the crash, according to police.

Police received a report of a crash at 11:04 a.m. on Main Street near Cini Park. First responders arrived and found one of the drivers was unresponsive and began CPR.

The driver, Brousseau, was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation determined that Brousseau was traveling west on Main Street when his vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and struck another vehicle heading in the opposite direction.

The other driver was not injured.

The Shoreline Accident Reconstruction Team responded to conduct an investigation. The Office of the Chief Medical will examine Brousseau and determine if his death was the result of a medical event prior to the crash or due to an injury.
