Niantic School Takes Precaution After Rumors of Missing York Correctional Inmate
The alert was based on a rumored missing York Correctional Institute inmate.
EAST LYME, CT – Reports of a missing inmate Thursday led to Niantic Center School taking precautions, The Day reported.
Students were sheltered in place for 12 minutes after rumor of a missing York Correctional Institute rumor spread, according to The Day. East Lyme Assistant Superintendent Amy Drowne said the alert was based on a false rumor.
A recount of the inmates at York Correctional Institute was taken that day, according to The Day. The recount showed no missing inmates.
