Niantic Woman Charged for Leaving Child in Car: Police

BREAKING: The suspect is charged with locking her child in the car outside a grocery store.

EAST LYME, CT – A woman was charged for leaving her child locked in her car outside a grocery store Saturday, The Day reported.

Police responded to reports of a child locked in a car outside Stop & Shop on Flanders Road close to 4:20 p.m., The Day reported. Sarah Koster, 35, was charged with leaving a minor unsupervised in a public place.

Police said the charge was based on witness statements, according to The Day. The child was not reported as injured.
