Here's what you need to know about Tuesday's 2019 Old Lyme local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

OLD LYME, CT —As voters head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Old Lyme’s municipal election, here's what you need to know.
There are many races including First Selectman, Selectman, Town Treasurer, Tax Collector, boards of finance, education, zoning and assessment appeals, and planning commission.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

Races and candidates
First Selectman
The candidates are Democrat Bonnie Reemsnyder and Republican Timothy C. Griswold. Choose one.
Selectman
The candidates are Democrat Mary Jo Nosal and Republican Christopher W. Kerr. Voters pick one.
Town Treasurer
The candidates are Democrat Michael Reiter and Republican Timothy C. Griswold. Choose one.
Tax Collector
The candidates are Democrat Sarah E. Michaelson and Republican Judith A. Tooker. Choose one.
Board of Finance
The candidates are Democrat David A. Rubino and Anna S. Reiter and Republicans Janet G. Sturges and J. David Kelsey.
Board of Finance Alternates
The candidates are Democrats Adam S. Burrows and Craig Tallento and Republicans Judith Read and Matthew Olson. Choose three.
Board of Assessment Appeals
The candidate is Republican David W. Evers Jr.
Regional Board of Education
The candidates are Democrats Sarah W. Bowman, Lorainne Panzara-Griswold and Jason L. Kemp and Republicans Suzanne S Thompson, Jennifer L. Miller and Steven J. Wilson. Voters choose three.
Planning Commission
The candidates are Republican Steven A. Ross for the five-year term beginning 2019 and Democrat Jim Lampos and Republican Harold Thompson for the five-year term beginning in 2020.
Zoning Commission
The candidates are Democrat Harvey Gemme and Republican Tammy Tinnerello for the five-year term beginning 2019 and Democrat Jane Cable and Republican Michael Miller for the five-year term beginning in 2020.
Zoning Board of Appeals
The candidates are Democrat Mara Lowry and Republican Nancy Hutchinson for the five-year term beginning 2019 and Democrat Kathleen Tracy and Republican Stephen P. Dix for the five-year term beginning in 2020.
Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate
The candidates are Republicans Devin Carney and Sherry Johnson.
What else you need to know
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.
