OLD LYME, CT — An Old Lyme businessman has spent $2.2 million on advertising opposing the reelection of Gov. Ned Lamont, according to a report in The CT Mirror. J. David Kelsey has funded political action committees that have aired a variety of TV ads focused on unseating the governor.
Kelsey is the former chairman of Old Lyme's Republican Town Committee.
Lamont told The CT Mirror he's never met Kelsey. Republican State Chairman Ben Proto said Kelsey is merely "a good Republican who believes we’d be better off with a Republican governor."
