OLD LYME, CT — The Old Lyme Fire Department will celebrate its 100th anniversary this summer. The celebration will be held July 15 from noon to 8 p.m. at the school campus at 69 Lyme St.

"OLFD is turning 100 this year! Please join us in celebrating our centennial year with a major block party taking place at our firehouse and the Lyme Street schools campus," the fire department wrote in a Facebook post. "We will have a classic car and antique fire truck show, kids activities, live music, food trucks, adult drinks, games, and so much more! Keep an eye on this event for postings regarding donations, the car show, and our anniversary book. And don't forget to tell your friends!!"

"The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit is a tribute to all who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, including the 343 members of the Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) who made the ultimate sacrifice, and all who continue to lose their lives to 9/11-related illnesses. This high-tech, 83-foot tractor-trailer, which transforms into an 1,100 square foot exhibit, is a tool to further educate people across the country about the events of that tragic day."
