Old Lyme Swimming Area Temporarily Closed: Health District
An Old Lyme swimming is closed due to elevated bacteria levels in the water, according to a statement from the health district.

OLD LYME, CT — Roger's Lake (Hains Park) in Old Lyme is currently closed due to elevated bacteria levels in the water, according to a statement from the Ledge Light Health District.
A swimming advisory is currently in effect for Hawks Nest Beach in Old Lyme. A resample was taken Friday with results expected back Saturday. Swimming is discouraged in this area until further notice, according to the statement.
Green Harbor Beach, L+M Beach, & Mitchell College Beach in New London and Giants Neck Heights (jetty) in East Lyme were all posted with swimming advisories Tuesday. These were re-sampled Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Results from those resamples were within acceptable limits and the advisories have been lifted.
