OLD LYME, CT—A multi-million-dollar Sound View area sewer system will go forward as voters approved the plan Tuesday night after casting ballots at the Cross Lane Fire House. The vote was 883 to 565 in favor, with 1448 residents and property owners casting ballots, or around less that 30 percent of the electorate.

The referendum question required a simple yes nor no: should the town authorize $9.5 million, and authorize bonds and notes to pay for, a sewer system for the Sound View neighborhood and other smaller town sewer projects.

The majority of voters said yes.
