Three events at Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve are scheduled for CT Trails Day Saturday, June 3. Rain date is Sunday, June 4. Registration starts on May 10.

* Birding Walk in the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve
Enjoy an early morning educational and informative bird walk in Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve with birding experts Bruce and Andrew Dasinger. Both have performed bird diversity studies in the Hills over the past several decades. This easy to moderate hike starts Saturday, June 3 at 7:30AM and participants should meet at the main entrance kiosk at the OH preserve located at Vets Field, 10 Memorial Park Dr., Niantic. * Explore the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve – Long Hike
Explore the entire Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve with hike leader Paul Parulis. Walk along a glacial stream valley and Clark Pond. Then traverse in elevation to the ridge tops, surface granite quarry and Mt. Tabor overlooking the Niantic River and Long Island Sound. This is a moderate 3-mile hike starting Saturday, June 3 at 9:00AM. The parking/meeting area is located at Vets Field, 10 Memorial Park Dr., Niantic. Participants should park in the overflow dirt parking lot and then meet at the adjacent Pitch Pines Park. Rain date is Sunday, June 4. * Explore Oswagatchie Hills Nature Preserve – Short Hike
Explore the western section of the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve with Ralph Bates featuring the Red Trail loop and its pitch pine ecosystem, small crawl through cave for kids and Quartz Pit. This is a moderate 1.5 mi. hike starting Saturday, June 3 at 10:00AM. The parking/meeting area is located at Vets Field, 10 Memorial Park Dr., Niantic. Participants should park in the overflow dirt parking lot and then meet at the adjacent Pitch Pines Park. Rain date is Sunday, June 4.
