Man, 78, Hit By Car In East Lyme Sunday Morning
Police identified the man hit by a car in East Lyme Sunday morning as 78-year-old Charles Fenick of Riverview Road.
EAST LYME, CT—East Lyme Chief of Police Michael Finkelstein told local media that police are investigating a Sunday morning pedestrian accident.
Police Monday identified the injured person as 78-year-old Charles Fenick of Riverview Road. Police said an officer was flagged down at 7 a.m. for an accident on Riverview Drive.
First responders included police, the Niantic Fire Department and East Lyme Ambulance. Fenick was initially transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London via ambulance, Fox 61 reported, but was then flown to Yale New Haven Hospital via LifeStar. A Patch request for an update on his condition was sent to the media coordinator at YNHH.

The Day reported police also released the name of the driver of the vehicle that hit Fenick as 82-year-old James Riordan, also a Riverview Road resident.
According to local media, the roadway was closed as investigators processed the accident scene. It was reported that investigators found a driver was leaving an apartment complex on Riverview Drive when the person was struck by their vehicle.

It's not clear if the person who was driving the vehicle has been or will be charged by police.
