Popular Bakery To Open Niantic Store

EAST LYME, CT — A project slated for Niantic will include 10 condominiums and four retailers, including another location for Sift Bake Shop, according to The New London Day. K Blake and Company recently began construction at the 185 Main St. site.

Sift Bake Shop currently has locations in Mystic and Watch Hill. The goal is for the new Niantic store to open July 1.

Site plans call for a three-story, 32,928-square-foot building with 10 condominiums, four retail spaces, and 43 parking spots. The project has been dubbed "The Norton," according to The New London Day.

According to the Sift Bake Shop's website, Sift Bake Shop is a family owned and French focused bakery "specializing in artisanal breads, pastries, desserts, macarons, signature cakes, savory items and more."

Sift chef Adam Young has earned numerous accolades over the years, including being a finalist in Food Network's 2017 Spring Baking Competition, winning Food Network's 2018 Best Baker in America award, and being featured multiple times at the James Beard house.
