Prisoner Attempts Escape from York Correctional Institution
The facility was alerted in the afternoon to an offender attempting to scale the perimeter fence of the facility

The Connecticut Department of Correction is investigating an apparent escape attempt from the York Correctional Institution.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, the facility was alerted to an offender attempting to scale the perimeter fence of the facility. According to a release, emergency protocols were immediately put in place and the offender was quickly apprehended.
Police said Nicole Goldin, 25, did not at any point breach the perimeter of the fence, which protects the community. No injuries to staff or the offender were reported.

Goldin has been in custody at the York Correctional Institution since July 21 on a $20,000 bond for criminal violation of a protective order. The Department of Correction has initiated an investigation and the facility remains on lockdown.
