Old Saybrook, Conn. ~ The Southeastern Connecticut chapter of SCORE, a nonprofit association dedicated to the success of small businesses, will present a free Small Business Workshop on “What You Need to Know about Bank Loans: Demystifying the Process.”

Workshop Goals:

  1. 1. To provide you with what you need to know about applying for small business financing from a bank.
  2. 2. To provide you an opportunity to meet with an expert in business financing who can answer your questions.

In addition, we will explore the following:

  • What does the bank need to know about you?
  • What do you need to know about the bank or other lender?
  • What are the different types of loans available?
  • Do you need a business plan? Where can you get help writing one?
  • Why are loans approved or declined?

About Workshop Presenter Joanne LoPresti Miller, VP, SBA

Joanne Miller is the SBA specialist for Webster Bank headquartered in Waterbury, CT. She has over 30 years’ experience with financial services institutions holding positions in Retail, Credit, Learning & Development and Commercial Lending. She is responsible for SBA loans to new and growing businesses in Connecticut and beyond. She will address questions such as how to prepare, what the bank wants to know, and what they want to see for a complete package.
