The attempted theft occurred on June 15 at a local supermarket.

EAST LYME, CT — East Lyme police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man in a failed shoplifting attempt on Friday at the Stop and Shop on Flanders Road, according to officials.
In a post on the department's Twitter page, East Lyme police say the suspect left the scene in "an older model black Ford Ranger" pickup truck, which was last seen on Society Road. It appeared as if the license plates had been removed, according to a witness.
Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to contact Officer Favalora at 860-739-5900.
