Suspected Package Thief Arrested By East Lyme PD
The homeowner's surveillance system helped police apprehend the suspect.

EAST LYME, CT — A 29-year-old Jewett City man has been arrested in connection with Tuesday afternoon's package theft on Chesterfield Road in East Lyme, according to police.
The theft occurred at about 1:30 p.m., and police developed a suspect with the help of the homeowner's surveillance video.
"The identity of the suspect was quickly established, and with assistance from Parole and the Groton Town Police Department, the accused was taken into custody," wrote East Lyme police in the below post on the department's Facebook page.

Arrested was Ricky Rotondi on charges of sixth degree larceny and trespassing. He was remanded to the custody of parole officials following his arrest, and he has a court date of Dec. 18.
"Thank you to everyone for their assistance in bringing this case to a quick resolution and your continued support in keeping our community safe," wrote police.
