From 12:01 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. on May 13, 2022, Route 156 over the Niantic River will be closed for cleaning of the span locks. This work cannot be accomplished in concurrence with traffic flow.

The detour is as follows: From Route 156 East, traffic will be detoured onto Route 161 North to Route 1 East to Niantic River Road South. From Route 156 West, traffic will be detoured onto Niantic River Road North to Route 1 West to Route 161 South.
