The East Lyme Natural Resources and Agricultural Commission are sponsoring a series of workshops introducing small-scale agriculture and sustainable practices any property owner can use. These workshops are led by local residents who will share their experiences and expertise on each topic. Newly passed town ordinances make producing your own food easier than ever to start at home.

The following presentations are scheduled:

Bee Keeping at Home – Fun for You and the Environment. Sally Uden presenting Wednesday, April 27th, 6:30-7:30 pm, in the East Lyme Library’s East Lyme Room

Keeping Chickens in Your Own Backyard. Kyle Cory presenting Saturday, May 15th, 2-3 pm, at the Samuel Smith Farmstead, Plants Dam Road

Home Composting – Turning Scraps and Peelings into Fertilizer. Tom Kalal presenting Saturday, May 22nd, 2-3 pm, at the Samuel Smith Farmstead, Plants Dam Road
