Truck Crash Yanks Down Power Lines In East Lyme: PD

More than 100 Eversource customers in town were without power Wednesday as a result of the crash.

EAST LYME, CT — About 125 Eversource customers in East Lyme were without power on Wednesday afternoon following a truck crash on Society Road that yanked down power lines, according to the town's Public Safety Department and Eversource.

The crash occurred at about 10 a.m. and resulted in the temporary closure of the road from Riverview to Flanders Road. The road was reopened later Wednesday night.

No injuries were reported, but as a result of the power outage, East Lyme Elementary School students were relocated to the middle school, reports Fox 61.
